Life is a waiting game. Waiting for tomorrow, for something more exciting than today. Waiting to hear about summer plans. Waiting for the year to end. Waiting for next year. Waiting to find a job. Waiting for The Special One to walk into my life.
Waiting. There is so much waiting. It is so fustrating.
Don't give yourself time to think about waiting; do something exciting with today.
ReplyDeleteor you can always try that crazy "forging ahead" thing, some weirdos claim that thats the only key to success......
ReplyDeleteIt depends how you choose to live it.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I used to count down the hours left to the day in school, the days left til the end of the week, the weeks left til the next vacation, the days left til graduation...
Then I went to seminary. We did a "unit" on Pnimiyus. That's when I decided that I wasn't gonna rush through my life looking for the next step. I wanted to stop and enjoy everything while it was happening. I made a conscious effort to be wherever I was 100%. And I am no longer waiting for anything... just loving my life as it is and dealing with each issue as it comes up.
It's amazing. But it's a choice you have to make, and it takes effort in the beginning.
C, I dont know u, but if you really do take all that to action, then that is pretty amazing of u...HOWEVER, I think a lot of people in this world aren't as positive as you. inspiring as your words are, I just dont know how practical the concept is for pessimistic humans that DONT want to enjoy every moment of their beautiful and flawless lives ....But hey maybe thats just cuz my seminary cheated me of the pnimiyus unit...hmm yet another thing to complain about..
ReplyDeletea unit on pnimius? isn't that going against all that pnimius stands for?
ReplyDeletelol. no, you can teach about the inner, it is possible.
ReplyDeletechanalia, as always, thanks for your inspiring words. Easy to be a pessimist, definitly. Not so easy to change. oh well.
when in doubt, continue in your slovenly ways...
ReplyDeleteCareful, sitting and waiting for tomorrow wastes the moment that you're in.
ReplyDeleteChanalia-My life isn't perfect, beautiful, or flawless. But it is great. I'm not always happy... but I do try to be wherever I am completely. Instead of waiting for things to be over, I try to just be in the situation and deal with things as they come.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't so much as a "unit on Pnimiyus" as much as a them of a chassid munt pnimiyus. I really took it to heart.. and what I got from it was that to be one place and be thinking of another is anti-pnimiyus. To me, being a pnimi means being 1000% devoted to everything, one at a time.
