Finished!!!

So that's it. I counted Sefira last night for the last time. Well, this year at least. I am so happy, knowing I lasted this long, that I managed to stay in the game the whole time. It is a great feeling. But at the same time, it's kind of sad. I know the whole purpose of sefira was to grow, personally. I can only hope that I did.

It has been a long 7 weeks. It's like a goal. You see it, you work towards it. you want it. And then it comes, and you realize, that's it, it's over. Now what? But I will not think about the next. I will live in the moment.

Tonight is Shavuos. One of the greatest times in our history. Or THE greatest, because if not for this one, none of the other ones would have followed.

G-d chose to give us the Torah. Were we worthy? Apparently so. Are we still worthy of it? I don't know. That is an individualized question. Now comes the night, the one where you stay up and learn. And prepare yourself for the momentous moment. And when it comes, you want to feel ready. But can you ever be ready for something like that?

No. But you can try.

Wishing you all a holy and contemplative Shavuos. Learn a lot, absorb it, pray, do all the good stuff.

Eat cheesecake, icecream, blintzes, celebrate, have fun! Be happy.

And don't forget the goal.

Moshiach now!!

  2. I finished too, with the brachah, my first time ever. And the best day ever was just yesterday, when it rained here in new york.

  4. For all those who care: I had a singularly unspiritual shavuot.
