I am talking about my new passport picture. The one I will have for the next ten years.
Ten years. It feels so final. Ten more birthdays. A husband, children, a job, a house. Who knows what will happen in the coming ten years? It is weird to think that this picture, and the passport I have yet to get will be with me for that long.
A picture is a moment frozen in time. G-d willing I will look different by the time the next picture comes around.
Here's to a great ten years for everyone. Health, and happiness, and lots of good things.
Hope the next ten years brings many good things iyh!
ReplyDeleteTen years certainly feels like a very long time...
Only because it fits so well
ReplyDeleteTen Years Gone - By Messers Page and Plant:
Then as it was, then again it will be
An' though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea
Flyin' skys of fortune, each have separate ways
On the wings of maybe, downy birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to go
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go
Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be
Did you ever really need somebody, And really need 'em bad
Did you ever really want somebody, The best love you ever had
Do you ever remember me, baby, did it feel so good
'Cause it was just the first time, And you knew you would
Do your eyes not sparkle, Senses growing keen
Tastin' love along the way, See your feathers preen
Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes, Didn't have to go
We are eagles of one nest, The nest is in our soul
Fixin' in my dreams with great surprise to me
Never thought I'd see your face the way it used to be
Oh darlin', oh darlin'
I'm never gonna leave you. I never gonna leave
Holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone
Interesting thought...my next 10 years will be ridiculously weird, so many changes, but you know what they say - travel is nature's way of making you look like your passport photo :D
ReplyDeleteAnd I wasn't allowed to smile in mine. B"H for learner's permits.
Mushkie, you are right. Traveling always makes me feel ugh.
ReplyDeleteIf only smiling was allowed. I smile at the passport officials anyway to try to transmit to them that I am an innocent citizen and not a terrorist. For some reason I don't think smiling helps much.
I love traveling! ( as in the actual traveling part), so i'll be smiling when they compare me to my passport picture. Which is good, since they let me smile in my latest passport pic. Maybe Californian passport offices are just more civil.
