You get this feeling sometimes. Maybe it just hits you out of the blue, or it comes from some specific incident that happened.
I felt it today, in the strangest of places. While watching an Arabic soap opera. Where, why, how would I be watching an arab show? Doesn't matter. (Or as my friend so bluntly puts it, 'now your business!')
In the space of 10 minutes, a girl, on her wedding day, was bought by another man, married to him, beaten, then she tried to hang herself, with the same belt that beat her. And they stopped her from killing herself, so they could beat her more later on. Ironic. Another girl was slapped in the face. They cowerd when a guy walks into the room. They cringe, because they are so used to the beatings.
Why would anyone in their right minds want to watch such a show? Beats me. (No pun intended.)
All I thought was, ugh. If you need a reason to hate arabs, do it for this reason. Treating a wife like a possesion, is no way to treat a lady.

yes, because americans are just soo wonderful...i can find you some movie with americans that do way worse...

i know soaps are not real, but how would i see arabs at all to know...

I think they just dont know how to make soap operas.
