I find it funny, and slightly annoying, how there are more Crown Heightsers here than there are in Crown Heights. And here I thought I was gonna get away from them for the summer. But no, apparently they followed me.
So camps over. The Rabbi gave me a bracha to be married by next summer (amen) and I said maybe I'll bring my husband back and we will do camp together.
For those of you who know what Munchies is (the ice cream store here in LA, on Pico, which incidentally is also a major hang out for guys and girls) I went there last night, and asked the owner for the 2nd time if I could work there. He said no. Again. I told him I'm free now that camp is over. He told me to get married. I pointed to all the guys in the store, and asked him which one to choose. He said he doesn't get involved in that stuff, and if I wanted to screw up my life, then I could go ahead. I told him I'm smarter than that.
Then I asked him if I could have a cool Munchies t-shirt (they are orange, the coolest color) he said no. Again. What is with grumpy owners and saying no? And they won't give you free stuff either. Go figure.
The place is slowly emptying out. Going home tomorrow. I'm sure California will miss me.
That's it. It's all over.
The end.
It's all over
ReplyDeleteNow forever
I'm alone
It's over!
ReplyDeleteYes, It's over!
With all we had to do,
We still came shining through!
The end, or the beginning?
ReplyDeletee- whats with u and singing old nostalgic songs? are u becoming sentimental in your old age?
ReplyDeleteQ- An end is always a beginning. Never forget that.
I actually once found a job in a grocery store next to munchies. ..I used to go there for my daily chocolate bar fix.. ..and it's only a hangout for younger kids (there used to be the hooka bar for older folks).
ReplyDeletereally? what do u consider 'young' and 'old'?
ReplyDeletemunchies is a pretty great place. sure beats nosh world. did you try sweet toot across the street and up a block or two? they make some good shakes.
ReplyDeleteya i did. this is how it went. the store was empty. i walked up to the counter. i asked what they had. she listed off a long list of stuff. my friend asked for something on the list. she said, im sorry, we are out of that. we asked for snow cones. she said, im sorry, we are out of ice. we asked for a flavor of ice cream. she said the machine was cosed for the night.
ReplyDeleteso basically, they only had one flavor of icecream!!!!!!
